in »la salle«, the stage is transformed into a »ballroom«. the already morbid charm of our landmarked building captures memories, desires and dreams. four couples meet in a circle surrounded by the audience. the audience, very near and in the midst of the events, becomes accomplices of the dancers, whose destinies speak from the depths of their bodies. the encounter takes place in a space of dreams, in which the dance becomes a yearning, a longing for life. with complex imagery and emotionality, filled with pain, melancholy, desire and sensual nuances, they attempt to extract happy moments from eternal ambition.
»toula limnaios creates moments of happiness… often reflected, overlapped and largely asserted against all destructive powers. every gesture, every step breathes between uncertainty and boundless devotion, the longing for life« (neues deutschland, k. schmidt-feister)
»a wonderful evening: light, laconic, abyssal, absurd.quite free from the existentialism of their previous productions.i for one walked out of the premiere last week happy and elated.« (rbb-kulturradio, frank schmid)
